Paul Johnson PJ began his television career at WCYB-TV in 1981 after working as a newspaper and radio reporter. A graduate of East Tennessee State University, PJ worked as a news, weather and sports reporter for WCYB before taking a sports position in Springfield, Massachusetts. After working for several television stations in the southeast, including a sister station of WCYB in Abilene, Texas, PJ returned home to the Tri-Cities as Sports Director in 1995. PJ’s daughter Morgan is a diabetic, and he is very active in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. PJ and Morgan produce a public service announcement every year and participate in the JDRF Walk and fundraising campaign.
Rebecca Pepin
Rebecca moved to the Tri-Cities in 2005 after living in Columbia, South Carolina for 5 years and working for WIS-TV. She grew up in Canada, and got her undergraduate degree in Ontario at Queen’s University, before moving to upstate New York to pursue a master’s degree in broadcast journalism at Syracuse University. Rebecca proudly became a US Citizen in 2006. She was the original news anchor for Fox Tri-Cities News at 10, and she began co-anchoring WCYB's News 5 at 5 in 2007. Rebecca has worked on a volunteer project to raise money for wounded veterans that resulted in a book called Faces of Freedom: Profiles of America’s Fallen Heroes ~ Iraq and Afghanistan. The book profiles one fallen hero from each of the 50 states, D.C. and Puerto Rico, with the proceeds going to Fisher House and Wounded Warrior Project.
David Boyd David grew up in Knoxville and has always had a love for weather. David went to UT before transferring to the University of Oklahoma where he got his meteorology degree. While in school, David interned with WATE-TV in Knoxville and, later, with KSBI-TV in Oklahoma City. He also worked part-time for WCYB in 2006 before joining BBB Cable TV12 in Oak Ridge, TN for a year. David ranked in the top 6% of forecasters in a national contest. He joined the WEMT staff in May, 2007. David and his wife love getting out and seeing East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. They also enjoy serving the community through their local church.
Sherrie Evans
Sherrie is a native Floridian and a graduate of the University of South Florida. Before joining the Fox Tri-Cities team, Sherrie reported and anchored for stations in Birmingham, Alabama; Greenville, North Carolina; and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She and her husband Brandon moved to the Tri-Cities when Sherrie joined the Fox Tri-Cities staff as weekend news anchor and reporter in January 2008.
