Today's Forecast
7 Day Forecast

Today:  More clouds than sun.  Still mild.  A few passing showers possible.  Highs 60 to 65.  Wind SW 5-10 mph.

Tonight:  Cloudy skies with occasional rain.  Lows in the middle 40s.  Southeast winds 5-10 mph.

Extended Forecast:
The Tri-Cities region can expect an extended period of unsettled weather.  A series of weather disturbances will slowly advance toward the region through Friday.  A southerly flow of air will pump up warm and increasingly humid air into the southern Appalachian region.  From time to time, a period of rain showers is expected...though much of today will likely be on the dry side.

Showers will likely increase in coverage on Thursday, along with a chance of a rumble of thunder.  As low pressure associated with cold, unstable air aloft tracks across the region Friday afternoon/evening, scattered thunderstorms will be possible.  A few of the storms could be on the strong side...possibly producing some hail and gusty winds.

As the low tracks east of the Tri-Cities this weekend, a cooler, northwest flow will develop.  This will bring to an end the warmer than normal temperatures.  Highs this weekend into early next week will be in the middle forties to middle fifties.  Some lingering light rain or drizzle will be possible through Tuesday of week as an upper-level low remains near the region.  Enough cold air will be in place that some of the highest elevations could see some wet snowflakes early next week.

Enjoy the warm days this week...and keep the umbrella handy!
