| DAVE DIERKS - Dave grew up in Iowa and is a graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in meteorology. While in college, he worked as a meteorologist for WOI-TV in Ames/Des Moines, Iowa, and following college, he worked for KCCI-TV in Des Moines until he joined WCYB as Chief Meteorologist in 1987. Dave is a regular speaker in classrooms all over the region. Kids enjoy his presentations about weather and forecasting, so he is often asked to return again and again. Dave is the spokesman for the Tri-Cities Alzheimer’s Association, and he enjoys working with the annual Southwest Virginia Special Olympics. Dave met his wife Natalie at WCYB, and they have two children...son Austin, and daughter Taylor. |

MARCUS LYNCH - Marcus grew up in Yadkinville, North Carolina, and started working in radio during his junior year of college. He moved to television his senior year, as an intern and production assistant for WXII-TV in Winston-Salem. Marcus graduated from Appalachian State University in 1990 and completed his degree in Meteorology at North Carolina State in 1993. His first fulltime weather job was with WMBD-TV in Peoria, Illinois, followed by several years at WJHL-TV in the Tri-Cities. He joined the staff of WCYB in the fall of 2003, working weekends, and moved to the morning newscast with Johnny Wood in 2008. |

DAVID BOYD - David got his degree in meteorology from the University of Oklahoma. While in school, David interned with WATE-TV in Knoxville and, later, with KSBI in Oklahoma City. He also worked part-time for WCYB before joining BBB Cable in Oak Ridge for a year. David ranked in the top 6% of forecasters in a national contest. He joined the WCYB staff in May, 2007. |
